* Estancia Punta del Lago * N/A

Overview

Estancia Punta del Lago is a rare Patagonian legacy in Argentina. Spanning 26,239 hectares, 64,840 acres, 265 square km, this extraordinary historic estate offers 12.3 km of private Lake Viedma shoreline and breathtaking views of Cerro Torre and Cerro Fitz Roy. Just 150 km from El Calafate Airport, the estancia lies on the scenic route to El Chaltén, Argentina's trekking capital. Iconic Ruta 40 and Provincial Route 41 pass directly through the property, creating a unique opportunity for tourism, hospitality and future development. Rich in history and architectural heritage, the main estancia complex includes a furnished six-bedroom, three-bathroom historic residence with three living areas and a study housing rare artifacts. A 6-kW solar system, 3-kW hydroelectric plant and mountain spring support off-grid living. On the lakefront, the historic former Punta del Lago Hotel complex was once a gathering place for Patagonian ranchers and travelers. Its four houses, guest lodge, restaurant and 30-kW diesel generator offer remarkable potential for heritage restoration and hospitality. Fully fenced and currently home to 100 cattle, the estate includes a historic barn, livestock infrastructure and two remote outposts, one reached by vehicle and the other by horseback. Prehistoric rock engravings, fossils including large ammonites, fertile tree-lined pastures and natural springs add to its exceptional character. More than a property, Estancia Punta del Lago is a living piece of Patagonian history-an extraordinary opportunity for a private legacy estate, luxury eco-tourism destination, heritage lodge, conservation retreat or working ranch.
